Like all its business management solutions, Dynamics NAV is supported by Microsoft via its partner channel. This means that users of Dynamics NAV have in effect two levels of support, one from their channel partner and one from the Microsoft channel itself. One of the benefits of this support structure from the end user’s point of view is that you are not tied into one company to support your system and changing channel partner is relatively easy. However, that can be a bit like saying one of the benefits of marriage is divorce! We recognise that you won’t want to change your partner on a whim, but it is a good idea to revisit the reasons for choosing a particular channel partner from time to time, especially at times of strategic change.
With so much change happening to businesses in recent years, and especially now, it could be that the partner you originally signed up with is no longer the right one to move forward with. Some companies have been bought up and relocated, staff change, business priorities move to other products or focus on a vertical market that isn’t relevant to you.
Many companies invested in Dynamics NAV as a product to change their business and drive it forward. If your current partner can no longer help you with that, then it’s time to move.
If you feel that you are less than totally satisfied with your current levels of support, please do contact us to see if we could do better.
So, why move to us? Because TVision is 100% focused on Dynamics NAV and has been since we were established ten years ago. As we have no other product offering, we have to be highly skilled on NAV and related technologies.
We have a successful track record in helping our clients get the most return from their investment in Dynamics NAV. We are a technology company but we do not believe in technology for its own sake, any project to make changes to your NAV system must show clear business benefit for you.
Our focus has always been on the Dynamics NAV product and making it work for our clients. We do have two vertical markets that we work in — recruitment and wholesale distribution — but we also have a strong focus on providing solutions to general business. We believe that it is essential to continue to expand our breadth of experience as it feeds our knowledge base which makes us a more valuable asset for all our clients. We also have a lot of experience in “rescuing” failing projects which have been referred on to us and which are now all, happily, satisfied customers.
Our support is truly client focused: accessible, responsive. knowledgeable: http://www.tvisiontech.co.uk/realsupport.html
Most Dynamics NAV users pay an annual support and maintenance fee. The support portion is paid to the partner to provide end user support, typically Help Desk. The maintenance portion is paid to Microsoft (via the Partner) for your Enhancement Plan.
You will need to check the terms of your contract with your current support partner to see how to serve notice.
The maintenance fee and renewal is transferred by Microsoft to your new partner seamlessly, renewal date will remain the same.
Most Partners typically charge 10% of licence value for annual support and the Microsoft maintenance fee is set by Microsoft so unless your current agreement is different, your annual fees should stay the same.
In order to support you, your new Partner will need to get to know your system. The number of days required to analyse the modifications and configuration will depend on the complexity of the system. A quick review of your database will allow us to put together a quote for this work and we would be happy to negotiate the terms for welcoming you as a TVision Dynamics NAV client.
