UK wine merchants Goedhuis and Company have chosen TVision Technology to upgrade and support their Microsoft Dynamics NAV (formerly Navision) solution. TVision
will be migrating Goedhuis to The Wine System, TVision own version of Dynamics NAV specifically developed for the UK wine trade.

A privately-owned wine merchant, Goeduis was founded by chairman Johnny Goedhuis thirty years ago. As wholesale fine wine merchants, the business provides wine
to private clients and trade. The sister company, Private Reserves, specialises in storing and delivering client owned reserves.

Goedhuis have been Navision users since 2002. The initial solution was completely bespoke to meet their requirements, forming the platform for Goedhuis’ e
xceptional customer service. The version in use was in need of upgrade and so Goedhuis decided to use the opportunity to implement process improvements. “
It is important for us to have a solution that is robust and easily supportable, without compromise to the operational requirements,” comments Justin Rand
all, FD of Goedhuis. “We are also keen to maximize our investment in Dynamics NAV, we like the system and felt there was no need to throw it out and start
from scratch, what we needed was a partner who could help us move it forward.”

Goedhuis selected TVision as the partner to work with; attracted by the 100% NAV focus and the Wine System, TVision’s version of Dynamics NAV specifically
developed for the UK wine trade. Randall added, “As TVision has a number of large wine merchants using the system we can use standard software for a lot
of our processes. And we know that TVision are committed to ensuring the Wine System keeps pace with new versions of NAV.”

The project has two main objectives, to improve stock tracking and order fulfillment. “We are now dealing with so many more individual cases of wines, it
is essential that the sales team has visibility of what is available to be sold, when it can be shipped and that it is promptly delivered to our clients,”
says Randall. The current system will be upgraded to NAV 2009 RTC (Role Tailored Client) and the database to SQL 2008. The crucial aim is to ensure that this h
appens without affecting the excellent customer service that Goeduis is renowned for, from website enquiry to delivery.

“The added value of the new, improved system will be realised through supporting the growth plans of Goedhuis over the next seven years. TVision will be t
here to support these plans,” said Richard Thompson, MD of TVision.
