Microsoft Gold partner, TVision Technology has successfully completed phase one of the implementation of The Wine System at Liberty Wines Ltd, wine importers and distributors based in London. The Wine System is a complete ERP (enterprise resource planning) software solution built on the Microsoft Dynamics NAV platform that has been developed by TVision Technology to meet the specific needs of the wine and drinks distribution industry.

Having selected Dynamics NAV as their preferred platform, Liberty Wines set about finding the most suitable partner to work with in implementing their new system. TVision’s extensive experience in the wine industry, including their development of the Wine System, made them the obvious choice, especially as The Wine System is already used and recommended by other wine companies including Enotria and Hallgarten Druitt.
TVision believes that any ERP implementation is very much a partnership between client and service provider and that it is this partnership which is key to a successful implementation. Richard Thompson, MD of TVision “The smooth running of this project was largely due to the excellent dedicated five strong project team at Liberty Wines. A key factor in the success of Go Live was that the Liberty Wines team were given the necessary time for rigorous testing.”

London based Liberty Wines wanted a solution that could handle both their finance and wine industry specific requirements. This has meant that The Wine System has replaced two separate software systems. The initial phase of the project has covered accounts, purchasing/sales processes for Liberty Wines’ operations as well as industry specific processes such as ex-cellar orders and paid/unpaid reserves. In addition, the Certified for Dynamics software add-on, Zetadocs has been used to facilitate the sending and scanning of documents, leading to faster and more efficient document management.

Liberty Wines has grown significantly in recent years – it recently bought land for and built its own office and warehouse facility to assist with future growth plans. They therefore needed a system which would handle their current requirements as well as having the scalability to grow with them into the future.
Gary Wyatt, Chief Operating Officer, comments: “We pride ourselves on outstanding customer service and our new system is crucial for ensuring we are able to deliver this now and in the future. For us stronger reporting capabilities and data collection was a crucial element for this project.”
Go Live coincided with Liberty Wines’ year end and initial user feedback has been very positive. With phase one now complete, Liberty Wines is already looking forward to the additional functionality planned for phase two which will incorporate cube reporting and ongoing improvements to reporting analysis.
