Every year we report back on the official Microsoft numbers for the growth of Microsoft Dynamics worldwide. Every year we are pleased to report that Microsoft Dynamics NAV is the most popular of the Microsoft business solutions.

This week is Microsoft Convergence in Atlanta, USA, the largest community event for Microsoft business partners. There are always interesting stories and statistics to come out of the event; including the annual popularity polls!
The 2015 event runs true to the formula: lots of what’s new and lots of what’s working well. This includes the release of figures for the total number of customers for the different products in the Dynamics suite. Once again Microsoft Dynamics NAV is head and shoulders above the rest in terms of number of customers and % growth.

Microsoft Dynamics NAV has always enjoyed a huge, growing customer base in Europe; this is still strong and spreading throughout the world. 8,000 new companies signed up for Dynamics NAV in 2014-15, this is 8 times the customer adds of Dynamics AX for the same period. The customer bases for both Dynamics GP and Dynamics SL have remained static showing no growth in this period and reflecting where NAV is gaining market share in geographies that were historically dominated by GP.

Why so popular? It could be due to the range of installation options that come with Dynamics NAV; from on premise to in the Cloud, perpetual licence purchase to monthly subscription, out of the box and quick to install to fully customised ERP. Dynamics NAV customers really can have it however they want it.

We believe it’s due to NAV’s flexibility, usability and reliability. This is an awful lot of “bilities” but deservedly so. NAV is the most flexible solution available in the market. It can scale from a single user to supporting thousands; simple finance processes to complex enterprise-wide operations; standard, “out of the box” to bespoke niche solutions. The partner channel extends the solution and the Certified for Microsoft Dynamics (CfMD) program brings even greater choice of extended features and functions.

The usability comes from the close work the NAV team have undertaken with the Office team. This is all centred on the “In Office 365” strategy that ensures consistent experience for the users.

NAV has more features and functions that GP or SL. It has scalability on a par with AX at a fraction of the cost to implement and maintain. It is renowned by customers for being the most reliable system, very rarely falling over and when the moon is blue and it does happen, always jumping straight-back up ready to go again.
92% of Microsoft Dynamics NAV users are ‘very happy’ with their software. Strangely we have no statistics to compare that to.
