When my manager suggested the idea of attending Directions EMEA 2016 I was more excited about the fact it was being held in Prague than about the event itself!  However, I have to say that there’s so much more to the event than meets the eye and it’s definitely well worth attending in 2017.  Here’s why:

Meet your peers

This year over 1,700 attendees from 588 partner organisations across 52 countries made it the biggest Microsoft Dynamics NAV event on the planet. It gave our team the opportunity to network with our existing contacts and meet new ones.

The Gala dinner at the end of the second day was a unique chance to socialise with the other attendees in a more relaxed, social environment.

Learn and develop

It was a fast and effective way to learn.  There were lots of workshops and demos where you could learn interactively. I also found it useful because it was focused on the latest version, NAV 2017.

Microsoft MVPs (Most Valuable Professionals) shared their knowledge, so I had the opportunity of learning from the best.

ISVs who provide add-on solutions for NAV were able to showcase their products, so I was able to discover and learn about new tools that I didn’t know existed.

Stay up-to-date with NAV

Microsoft was one of the event’s main sponsors and they delivered more than 50 % of the content, providing us with the most up-to-date information.

Every aspect of NAV was covered – more than 150 sessions gave us the opportunity to explore NAV’s capabilities in detail.

It’s not just for developers

There were plenty of sessions for sales and marketing people, as well as some very interesting talks on business innovation, disruptive technologies, and using social media to boost your personal profile online.

Hopefully next year I will be lucky enough to attend the 10th Anniversary Directions EMEA event from  4-6 October 2017 in Madrid (my home town, which makes it even more special).  I could even be the official tour guide for Team TVision, as well as continue learning more and more.
