Our Client Day is now known as: The TVision NAV Summit
Our NAV Summit took place nearly a month ago now at the Williams F1 Conference Centre in Wantage, Oxfordshire. With just shy of 60 people attending, it is the biggest TVision client event we have ever held. The objectives for the day were for us to share our expertise with our clients, to let them know about NAV developments, to provide them with information about projects we are undertaking here in the office, and provide information for add-ons they may find useful.
At the end is our filmed highlights reel for you to watch, and below is a summary of the day.
NAV Summit Scheduling
The event was timed specifically to follow the Directions EMEA conference, which is held annually by Microsoft for its European partners. Generally, the new version of NAV is presented and sessions run informing partners of all the developments and updates. On this occasion, we all received the announcement that the next version of NAV would be officially launched in December. So despite our best intentions, we could only show an intro to the next NAV update rather than do a deep dive into the new version for our attendees. However, NAV 2018 is now live so watch this space and expect an update soon.
Speakers Agenda
For our agenda, we decided on a mix of internal and external sessions to ensure there was a varied pace and knowledge base for our attendees. Pippa Odell, the MD opened the day with a review of the changing landscape of Microsoft and a talk about NAV, “Project Tenerife” and D365. We then had a session from Richard Marsh, the MD of CIS Ltd, an Oxford based company who have training and experience in the impending GDPR regulations. Off the back of massive audience interest and this being selected as the second most favourite session of the day by attendees, we planned our GDPR webinar. The webinar had the specific aim of showing off the new the App we have developed internally for our clients to assist them in their GDPR compliance processes.
We also had a session delivered by Steven Houghton-Burnett who spoke about the importance of disruption in the workplace. Read his LinkedIn piece on event here: Crucible Moments and Change Waves. He got the title of most preferred session by the attendees and many of the comments suggested it was something that was going to be addressed on a return to work.
All Work and no Play
As well as the serious side to the day, we were delighted that so many of our clients participated in the racing challenge on the F1 simulators. The competitive spirit definitely came out amongst the TVision team, our partners as well as the clients. This is just one of the quotes we received in our feedback forms:
Terrific Event. Really good turn out. Enjoyable balance of fun (tour, racing) and work. The breakout themes were well chosen. Impressed!
TVision Partners
We were also delighted to have two of our valued partners at the event. Christian Beer from Dynamicweb delivered a session on ecommerce as an add-on to NAV users, and Martijn Holterman from Continia spoke about document capture and expenses management. Next year we hope to increase the number of partners in attendance to give our clients even more opportunity to learn how NAV functionality can be extended by the integration of add-ons.
In the afternoon, our Bevica Product Manager hosted the inaugural Bevica Users Forum. From what I could see, an hour wasn’t long enough so next time there will be a longer break-out session.
All in all, it was a successful day with so many of our clients deciding to join us. Next time we will be hosting the event in January 2019, venue and exact date TBC.
