Name someone you admire and why
Dame Janet Baker – outstanding singer: flawless technique, diction and total mastery of the text. Unsurpassed before or since. A true artist – but totally down to earth.
Do you have any skills or talents that most people don’t know about?
Classically trained singer – and Harley Davidson pillon rider (sometimes both at once!)
If you could be anywhere other than here, right this minute, where would you be?
Somewhere new, possibly abroad – sipping a glass of wine on an outside terrace at a picturesque harbour or local market.
Flashback to when you were 10 years old. What do you want to be when you grow up?
Finish this sentence. On Sunday mornings, you can usually find me…
… having a lazy brunch in the conservatory watching the birds.
How do you want people to remember you?
Fun and conscientious
What do you think are the best skills that you bring to your job?
Having worked in banking and legal, I am very process driven. I am a stickler for governance with a razor sharp eye for detail. However, I realise that we are also human and that mistakes do happen – my job is to minimise those by finding the best processes to follow both internally and externally with our clients.
Name three words that describe you.
Honourable, honest, conscientious
How do you think your colleagues would describe you?
Probably that I am consistently offering new ways of doing things (“Have you thought about …”).
Name something surprising on your bucket list
I’ve love to visit Japan.
What are you happiest doing, when you’re not working?
Pottering around gardening – or visiting open gardens, particularly those that offer tea and cake!
What are some causes you care about?
Mental health – being honest about yourself and when you need help. Speak up. We need to talk more and suffer less. Too many good people are lost too early. Let’s Talk. www.letstalkcampaign.com
Sustainability – we are trying to live more sustainably and cutting our plastic consumption; our little bit. In the last year, we have planted our garden with not only 4 patio fruit trees for us, but also bird and wildlife-friendly plants and flowers. We have struggled with our allotment this year (same principle, but a lot of work) – hopefully, we can grow more than weeds next year!
What do you do with friends in your spare time?
Good friends, good food, good wine.
What would be your personal motto?
Take time to live in the moment.
