This month we are really pleased to be kicking off a project with Montreal Associates, implementing Agency Time on Microsoft Dynamics NAV (see the press release for how pleased they are too!). Why are we really pleased? Pleased because new clients are always good news; especially pleased because we first spoke with Montreal two years ago.

Now I am sure you are wondering, why weren’t we celebrating two years ago, what has taken so long? Certainly Montreal were impressed with the solution two years ago; they liked the Microsoft Dynamics NAV platform, they liked the Agency Time functional fit to their business; they liked our industry experience. So why didn’t they buy then? Because we advised them not to.

This may seem very strange, an organisation whose business is to sell software advising someone not to buy? Let’s look at that again, yes, we a Microsoft Dynamics NAV partner; we are a Gold partner and to maintain that we are measured in part by licence revenue. So yes, we have key drivers to sell more “product” but actually we are not a product organisation, we are a solution partner, interested in providing working business solutions and long term relationships, not turning the proverbial “fast buck”.

Two years ago our view was that sure, we could sell Montreal product but that their internal team was not ready to turn product into solution. We suggested a number of preparation activities that would get them into the best shape for successful implementation. We are now really, really pleased to be working on this project with them and getting ready to celebrate another success for Agency Time on Microsoft Dynamics NAV.
