Bloc Hotels is a UK-based hotel chain founded in 2010, providing smart, modern hotels for smart, modern travellers, made possible by thoughtful design.
Prior to implementing Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Bloc had relied on spreadsheets and a Sage product for their financial management needs. However, as the organisation expanded, they found that it was unable to keep up with the demands of their growing business.
Once Bloc decided to replace the system, they decided that Business Central would be the best fit for the hotel group.

Moving to Business Central SaaS has proved to be very beneficial for Bloc Hotels for two key reasons:
- Greater time efficiency: The winning combination of Business Central and Jet Reports has meant increased time efficiencies for Bloc. The integration between the two systems now allows Bloc’s finance team to easily draw out bespoke data from their finance system. This, as well as the ability to automate the running and distribution of reports, has saved this small team (there are only three Business Central users within the Group) operational time that can now be dedicated to other value-add activities.
- Increased data accuracy: The move to Business Central has also meant that manual data entry is no longer necessary. As a result, there has been a marked increase in data accuracy.
In addition to Jet Reports, Bloc also implemented two TVision add-ons:
- Divisional Dimensions: This add-on allows businesses to run multiple legal entities through a single Business Central company.
- BACS File Export: This add-on creates a payment file from Business Central that the business’s bank can easily import into its banking portal.
