We recently had a chat with Thomas Droob, Senior Solution Manager for Continia Payment Management about the Continia solutions available and how they can empower our customers’ businesses.
What is the history behind the company, when was it established, and who were the founders?
Continia was founded over 25 years ago as a consultancy company specialising in payment solutions. Payment Management was Continia’s first solution and later we added Document Capture, Expense Management and Document Output. Today we are one of the largest ISVs in the Business Central ecosystem. We now have 130 employees and still operate under the management of one of the Founders, Henrik Laerke.
Tell us a bit about the different Continia solutions offered through TVision Technology
We currently have four different solutions available to companies through our trusted partner, TVision Technology. Each of these solutions are built inside Business Central. The advantages of this are that users stay within the Business Central interface they are used to. As a result, the solutions are easier to maintain and implement.
- Document Capture – Document Capture is an end-to-end solution to import, register, approve and archive complete purchase invoices and credit memos directly into Business Central. Other document types can be handled in a similar, easy manner. -All of this happens with minimal user involvement.
- Expense Management – This solution provides easier-than-ever registration and approval of business-related expenses and travel activities using: Business Central, a unique Expense app, and a Web Portal.
- Document Output – With this solution, businesses can automate every step of their daily document distribution process. Directly from Business Central, businesses can send their electronic documents from a specific file folder, or as attachments in their outgoing emails.
- Payment Management – This is an end-to-end solution that handles everything related to payments between a business’s bank and Business Central. Whilst it was our first offering in mainland Europe, we are now delighted to be offering it in the UK.

What kind of organisations approach you? Do you speak to a lot of Microsoft users?
The strength of our solutions is that they are available for every company that uses Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. Our customer base varies from very large companies to medium and small companies. Together with our partners, we get to talk to a lot of Microsoft customers and show them the benefits of our solutions.
What common critical business challenges do people mention during conversations with you?
First and foremost, the main business challenge that customers mention to us is lack of time. Our solutions are there to save the customers valuable time. This is our main focus when developing our offerings.
In addition, customers often express concerns about disparate systems. All the data from the different parts of their business is accessible, but it is usually in separate and discrete operational systems. This means there is regularly a duplication of effort as data needs to be manually inputted into those various systems, and there is lack of clarity on which version of the data is the one that should be used to make specific decisions. Because the Continia solutions are built inside Business Central, customers get a single source of truth, with a consolidated view of their business data linked to these solutions.
What is your working relationship like with your users?
We enable our worldwide partner network, including TVision Technology, to fully support our solutions at the customer’s end. From sales to support, our partners are our trusted pair of hands. We do, however, jump in when needed and support during sales or support cases.
