Debbie Gibbs – Customer Service Team Leader

Debbie Gibbs joined TVision in late 2022 as the Customer Service Team Leader.  Debbie has a background in finance which has, over her career, evolved into IT support and training. Debbie’s role here at TVision is to ensure that the TVision Support team, and its job queue, run effectively.

Name someone you admire and why
There have been so many people in my life that I admire but the person that stands out in my mind above all the famous and well people out there, it has to be my mother. She was, in her own way, a remarkable woman who overcame so many obstacles in her life but never gave up on being the best she could be.

What’s a typical day like for you?
Catch up meeting with the team, triaging tickets responding or sending emails. Customer meetings and reporting as well as other admin functions.

Do you have any skills or talents that most people don’t know about?
I am passionate about reflexology and have practised this for many years. It is a great stress reliever!

If you could be anywhere other than here, right this minute, where would you be?
In the African bush. Anywhere in Kruger National Park enjoying the peace of being so close to nature.

Flashback to when you were 10 years old. What do you want to be when you grow up?
A nurse.

How do you want people to remember you?
Kind and caring.

What do you think are the best skills that you bring to your job?
Not being afraid of change and the desire to find the most efficient way to support our customers. Having been on both sides of the fence I understand their need for the best solution in the shortest possible time. Many of the issues are time critical and understanding this helps me to assign the person with the most relevant skills to assist the customer.

Loyal, persistent and honest.

How do you think your colleagues would describe you?
Hmmmm….. one day when I am more settled I would like to say helpful?

Name something surprising on your bucket list
For many years it has been to watch a five-day test match between SA and England at Lords.

Describe a goal that you want to accomplish in the next year
To get my Indefinite Leave to Remain in the UK.

What are you happiest doing, when you’re not working?
Spending time with my family. My sister and I love spending time together and doing some crotchet or knitting projects while watching cricket or other sporting events.

What are some causes you care about?
So many! I detest any form of cruelty or abuse so will always support those causes. I also support the “Dignity in Dying” cause. Just as I believe in “Pro Choice” for abortion I think everybody has the right to end their suffering in a dignified manner.

What do you do with friends in your spare time?
I love being with my friends regardless of what we are doing but enjoying a meal and a chat or visiting a market is always good.

You can do this!
