Statistics are interesting but I fear I am fickle when it comes to deciphering them. Just like reading a weather report, if the report states sunshine on a bank holiday (ha!), I’ll believe it; if it states wind and rain I’ll tell myself that the weather reports are generally unreliable.

The last few weeks we’ve had endless statistical information on political party popularity (the worm is my favourite). Most analysts are in agreement: this election is impossible to call. So does this call in to question the usefulness of statistical data especially that based on public opinion?

We’ve recently under-taken a customer satisfaction survey which showed TVision to be above average for Microsoft partners of our type and in our region. A very impressive 94% report a high level of overall satisfaction with our service. These sorts of statistical results most politicians would probably die for. So why, oh why, am I worrying about the remaining 6%?!
