5 years in Case House came round very quickly. And from what seemed like roomy offices in the Summer of 2005 when we first looked became, by last Summer, somewhat cramped and lacking in enough meeting space for clients and others.

We looked at other places in Walton but ended up moving down the corridor in Case House into more spacious offices; finally providing what Microsoft describes as ‘..[the] Red Carpet Experience’. The Morrison team doing Housing Maintenance make for interesting neighbours. But we all agree here that the working environment has improved greatly. And we’re better able to host existing and new clients without ending up in the kitchen to talk sometimes, as used to happen.

And the ‘New / Old’ Face? Well that’s Nikolai L’Estrange who left TVision 3 1/2 years ago to return to New Zealand. Despite the UK government’s best bureaucratic efforts, Nikolai has returned to head up the Development and Support team. He brings with him 10 years of working with the Navision product and is a keen enthusiast for the whole Microsoft product range where that impacts on Dynamics. He’s one of 3 new joiners in January with 2 Matts having joined Consultancy and Sales.

Discussion in the office has turned to entering a team in the London to Brighton cycle event in the summer. When I first lived in London in 1980 and was training to be an accountant at Moore Stephens, I used to cycle to the office and most clients as part of my fitness training for my rugby, sailing and squash regime. The ankle and knee joints stopped working a while a go so I’ll be cheering them on from the roadside.

Sailing for me resumes at the beginning of April; and as the days lengthen I have to admit I can’t wait. The National Swallow class has changed its sail plan for the first time since the 1948 Olympics in Torquay. It should be a fun spring and summer as we learn how to get the best use from the new sails.
