Stephen Gresty – Delivery Director

Stephen has worked within the Microsoft eco system for the past 20+ years with both end users and VARs (Value Added Reseller). Prior to that, he worked as a management accountant. This helped him better understand the needs of both sides of an ERP implementation and to ultimately create a better long-term relationship.

His role as Delivery Director entails working with the various teams both client-side and within TVision to enable a successful implementation.

Name someone you admire and why
I would say Tony Heeley, my Grandad. When he was working on a farm, a shire horse got spooked and kicked out. Alas, he was stood behind the horse, and the outcome was that he lost the sight in one of his eyes. This was then replaced with a glass eye.

He loved horses even after this incident, he showed me that if something bad happens you are in control of how you react to what happened.

Also, he made for a great show when he cleaned his eye, it used to freak people out. It was great when you were a kid.

Do you have any skills or talents that most people don’t know about?
Alas, not in relation to skills or talents. What most people don’t know about me is that I have a collection of notepads.

If you could be anywhere other than here, right this minute, where would you be?
Anywhere with my family. Ideal location: Canada, Venice, or Mauritius or having a good meal and a glass of red.

Flashback to when you were 10 years old. What do you want to be when you grow up?
I wanted to be a bus driver/tour guide who took people on holiday.

Finish this sentence. On Sunday mornings, you can usually find me…
On a walk around a local landmark near where I live called Creswell Crags.

A little more about the Crags, it is an extraordinary archaeological park with caves, a gorge, and a museum. It is an enclosed limestone gorge, the cliffs in the ravine contain several caves that were occupied during the last ice age, between around 43,000 and 10,000 years ago

Also a lovely walk with a café halfway to fuel up for the walk back home.

How do you want people to remember you?
Someone always willing to listen and help.

What do you think are the best skills that you bring to your job?
My experience of different products and sectors both in the reseller channel and with end users. Gives me a unique perspective of both environments.

Name three words that describe you.
Dedicated, integrity, detailed.

How do you think your colleagues would describe you?
I have only been at TVision for a short period of time but I hope that they would find me quiet, focused, dedicated, and that I deliver on what I say when I say.

Name something surprising on your bucket list
To drive from Toronto to Vancouver in either a Winnebago or Mustang, then come back on the train.

Describe a personal goal that you want to accomplish in the next year
Become a better version of myself and help other people to become better versions of themselves.

What publications do you regularly read?
I check the football gossip column on the BBC Sports App

What are you happiest doing, when you’re not working?
Being with my family, so either having a nice meal, trying to help the boys play golf, or going for a walk.

What are some causes you care about?
Mental Health Advocacy and East Midlands & Lincolnshire Air Ambulance – I was surprised to know that they don’t get any government support and they have to self-fund via donations. Having had a family member needing to use it, this will always be something close to my heart.

What do you do with friends in your spare time?
Mainly eating – Love to visit new places and enjoy a good meal.

What would be your personal motto?
Say what needs to be said, not what needs to be heard.
