[NEWS] Woking, UK – 2nd August 2021. TVision Technology Ltd (TVision) now has Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus certification. Cyber Essentials is a government backed scheme for organisations to help guard them against cyber attacks.
There are five areas of control that Cyber Essentials covers to strengthen cyber defences. TVision has always had a robust IT infrastructure, and has taken the responsibility of security very seriously. The knowledge that our systems and processes are certified should be provide even more peace of mind to clients and vendors that we use. These five areas are:
- Firewalls and internet gateways
- Secure server configuration
- Viruses and malware protection
- Software updates
- Access to data and services.
The process involves completing an online questionnaire for Cyber Essentials. It is flexible and can be applied by all sizes of organisations. Even though those without a dedicated IT department, or one that outsources their IT.
Cyber Essentials provides a numbers of benefits to both TVision and its clients. It can help to protect against common cyber attacks. With regularly updated software and secure passwords, we can diminish the risk of an attack that exploits system weaknesses. It shows our clients and vendors that we appreciate the risks of cybersecurity and those of data integrity. We have been GDPR compliant since the launch of that legislation in 2018. So our protocols and processes adhere to the storing, processing and transferring of any personal information.
Cyber Essentials Plus requires all of the above as well as a hands-on technical verification audit by an authorised partner. Members of the TVision team had their laptops and phones inspected to ensure they could adhere to the high standards set and required to prevent a cyber attack.
