TVision Technology are delighted to welcome their client, Landmarc Support Services (Landmarc), as new additions to the TVision 10 Years Club. This initiative, started in 2019, recognises and thanks those clients who have been TVision clients for over ten years and, as a result, have built strong and lasting relationships.
Landmarc provides the support services that enable Armed Forces from around the world to prepare for frontline military operations across the UK Defence Training Estate (DTE). This includes maintaining and delivering safe and sustainable infrastructure, managing and operating training areas and ranges and delivering multi-million pound projects to improve vital training assets.
Building on the solid foundations of NAV
Landmarc became a TVision Technology client in April 2014 when they implemented an on-premise version of NAV (Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central’s predecessor). In late 2022, Landmarc determined that, due to the security requirements of the MOD network, they needed to migrate from an on premise to a cloud-based solution. With this in mind, they made the decision to move to Business Central.
The implementation project took place in late 2022 and early 2023. In order to ensure that the go-live process went smoothly, Landmarc carried out two test runs. These practice runs provided both Landmarc and TVision with valuable feedback on both the cut-over process and the data migration requirements. This was critical for ensuring that the actual go-live process, which started on 24 March 2023 and was completed on 1 April, was a success.
Reaping the benefits of a move to Business Central
Despite Landmarc having over 1,300 employees, it is only the five members of their small finance team who make use of Business Central. Their experience of the system has been a very positive one.
Speaking to Kevin Down, Landmarc’s Head of Finance, he said: “We are very pleased with our move from NAV to Business Central. It has all the functionality, and more, that we were used to with NAV. The user interface is, however, much more modern and easy to navigate. In addition, our move away from a legacy, on premise system, like NAV, has ensured that we have future proofed the financial management of our business for the foreseeable future.”
TVision: A trusted partner
Looking back over their 10 year partnership with TVision Technology, Landmarc have been very pleased with the service and support they have received during this time. Kevin adds: “We have been very lucky that our Business Central system, and its NAV predecessor, have been very stable so problems have been few and far between. When we have had to raise support tickets, they have been resolved without too many problems.”
