TVision Technology's (based in Walton on Thames) dynamic duo Stephanie Dean and Jane Ralphs will be hanging from the rooftops of Twickenham Stadium on Sunday 29th March 2009, to raise money for The Stroke Association as they take part in the Sporting Hero's Charity Abseil.
The pair, who are responding to the Stroke Association's challenge, “Have you got the balls?“ will abseil 100 ft down the side of the stadium, the prestigious home of English Rugby. They plan to dress in rugby team colours and will be collecting sponsorship from family, colleagues and customers for this very worthwhile charity.
It is estimated that around 150,000 people in the UK have a stroke, while stroke is also the leading cause of severe disability, and the third biggest killer in the UK, after cancer and heart disease. More than 250,000 people in the UK live with disabilities caused by a stroke.
Stephanie Dean explained, “We wanted to do something quite different, and this certainly fits the bill. I would like to thank all of our colleagues at TVision in advance for their generous donations and support. We will be looked after and trained by the charity's professional qualified abseiling team, so no, I have no worries about throwing myself off this tall building- after all it's in a good cause and it will give us both a chance to do something you don't get to do every day.“
Managing Director Richard Thompson states, “It will definitely make a change from their usual roles as Project Manager and Office Manager at TVision although they will be throwing themselves into this project with all of their usual enthusiasm not to mention nerves of steel too!“
